Frequently asked questions
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama offers specialised degrees and courses in music and the performing arts. Students join a tight-knit community where they will be encouraged to develop their individual talents, benefit from creative collaboration, and gain input from experts. All students get plenty of support from dedicated and experienced tutors to help them reach their potential.
A degree is a fantastic way to explore subjects you are interested in more in-depth and to work in a field that inspires you after graduation. If you do something you enjoy, you'll never work a day in your life! If you are keen to stay in education, an undergraduate degree means you can go on to a master's degree or a PhD to become an expert in your field of interest.
RWCMD offers bursaries. These are available in addition to the maintenance loans and grants provided by the government. If you are a UK first-year undergraduate and your household income is assessed when you apply for student finance, you may be eligible. You do not need to apply for a bursary. Bursary support is for the duration of your studies. Thanks to generous donors, scholarships are also available to help RWCMD students during their studies. These are separate from student finance funding and do not need to be repaid.
