- LAMDA
- Leeds Conservatoire
- Royal Academy of Music

What are conservatoires?
Conservatoires are higher education institutions that specialise in performing arts training, such as music, dance, and drama. Often having bespoke facilities, they help you experience what it's like to actually work in the industry.
Conservatoires typically offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and their curriculums are focused on practical training and performance. You'll receive individual instruction from experts and have frequent opportunities to perform in front of audiences.
How do you apply through UCAS Conservatoires?
You can create a single electronic application that鈥檒l be submitted simultaneously to a maximum of six conservatoires.
You can still make a separate application through UCAS Undergraduate to other universities and colleges offering music, dance, drama, screen and production courses, although you can only accept a place through one system (i.e. via either UCAS Conservatoires or UCAS Undergraduate).
What decisions might I get from Conservatoires?
After you submit your application to UCAS Conservatoires, the institutions you are applying to will update you about the progress of your application. Replies could include:
- AP (audition pending) if you've been invited to audition.
- GU (guaranteed unconditional) i.e. an unconditional offer, confirming you've already met the entry requirements. If you accept this, it will be binding.
- GC (guaranteed conditional) i.e. a conditional offer, dependent on you meeting certain requirements such as exam results.
- VU (reserve unconditional) if you're in a pool of reserve applicants, who may yet get an unconditional offer from the institution. You must accept the conservatoire's decision to remain in this pool, or you can decline to be released. You must respond by the reply deadline.
- VC (reserve conditional) if you're in a pool of reserve applicants who might get a conditional offer, if a place becomes available and you meet the requirements.
- R (unsuccessful) if you've not got a place.
- W (withdrawal) if you've chosen to withdraw your application from a particular conservatoire.
Any offers are only official once you receive an email from UCAS.
