Why go to an open day?
When you attend an open day, you'll get a gut feeling about the university. Open days will help give you clarity if you're not sure what course to choose. You'll be able to visit different departments and chat with lecturers and other department staff, there are often subject talks too. You'll also get to speak to current students. They can tell you whether they're satisfied with the teaching, what the local nightlife is like, what the best halls of residence are – pretty much anything. Don't forget to look at the accommodation for yourself and make time to walk around the surrounding area to see if you like it.
Where is it located?
It has two main campuses: the Bishop Otter Campus in the historic city of Chichester and the Bognor Regis Campus found in the seaside resort of Bognor Regis. You can get to both sites by car, train or bus. The university provides two free bus services to its current students.
Chichester is a thriving city full of quirky little shops, cafes, and pubs. It has a local theatre, a month-long summer arts festival, including a variety of music, plus theatre productions starring acclaimed actors. It is also just 90 minutes away by train to London.
