Lily's Clearing story

Hi, my name's Lily and I'm a first year Biology student at the University of Kent.

My Clearing experience was a lot easier than I'd been led to believe, there were a lot more places than I'd expected. I actually did most of my research the day after results today because I still wanted that day to celebrate with my friends.

Why did you pick the University of Kent?

What attracted me to the University of Kent was the course itself.

My course at Kent had the widest range of modules, which was something I was looking for. Then they actually phoned me on results day, a member of the department called, which I really liked, it made me feel like Kent was really friendly.

How was finding accommodation at the university? 

I found accommodation quite easy to get, you either ticked on the form that you wanted accommodation, or you said it verbally on the phone. I wanted a specific kind so I phoned up and made sure I could get that.

What's your view of Clearing?

You're not a disappointment if you go into Clearing, lots of people go through it for loads of different reasons and when you get to university no one cares at all. Some advice that I would give is that it's not as scary as everyone thinks, there's a lot more options, take your time to really look through everything, you have plenty of time.

Sin's Clearing story

Hi, I'm Sin, I'm a Forensic Science student and I'm doing a year in television.

My experience with Clearing was pretty unusual because I applied through normal means and then I changed my mind, turned down the offer and then I changed my mind again and came back to the University of Kent through Clearing.

What's the best thing about Clearing? 

The main benefit of Clearing is that if you're a very indecisive person like I definitely am, you can very quickly change your decision. The campus is a lovely place and it's close to town, you can walk into Canterbury at any point, it's just it's a lovely town, it's so open, it's very student friendly.

Clearing is just another way to apply and I'm really glad I did it.
