Helping your students with university shortlisting
We know it can be hard to get students to engage with the task of uni shortlisting, that鈥檚 why we created Uniselect. By answering just a few simple questions, students get a list of unis that could be a perfect fit.

University research can take a long time and it can be hard to get students to engage with such a lengthy process, especially when there are so many different university websites to look at and so much to consider. Students can find it hard to keep track of which uni offers what, and if the distance from home, courses and entry requirements are right for them.
Uniselect offers students a shortcut to their shortlist, all they have to do is answer few simple questions to filter universities by what matters to them. Uniselect will then provide them with a personalised shortlist that they can save to their profile and go back to time and time again until they decide on their final five unis for their UCAS application.
Try it for yourself and see how it could help your students on their university journey.
Here鈥檚 how Paul, a Business teacher from Haywards Heath College, found Uniselect when we went to test it with his students.
How do you think Uniselect could help students on their application journey?
They鈥檙e digital natives, so having something that's online that they can easily access at any time means that they're more likely to engage and take their search seriously. The search function is really simple. It allows them to do multiple searches, go back and refer to them.
What uni application pain points can Uniselect help your students with?
They can do it where and when they like because it's online, it removes the need for paper and hopefully it will encourage and incentivise students to take their search more seriously. Because for young people, it's probably one of the biggest decisions they will take.
As a teacher, would you encourage your students to use Uniselect?
I鈥檇 encourage them to use as many resources as possible. But for students, a digital online tool will probably be their go-to choice. I imagine it will be warmly welcomed by lots of students because it taps into the way that they live their lives, and it allows them to be free to choose when and where and how and for how long they actually search for their university course.
Uniselect
We've been developing Uniselect alongside students over the past 6 months and we're planning to continue making it even better! To do this we are first launching a Beta version. We鈥檇 love you to create a personalised shortlist and answer a short survey that will pop up after Uniselect has delivered your shortlist. If you鈥檇 like to give us more detailed feedback or to ask us any questions about Uniselect, please email uniselect@idp.com
