Course summary

Why Television Production?

Our Television Production degree will allow you to explore a range of genres including documentary, drama and entertainment, as you develop professional skills in single and multi-camera production programmes. With opportunities to gain real experience working on programmes such as ‘X Factor’, ‘Britain's Got Talent’, ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’, ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Flog It’, our graduates stand out from the competition. You’ll also have the chance to work with Cheltenham Festivals to film and vision-mix large events, and with local sports clubs to produce interviews and game-highlights packages. There are regular trips to show recordings, with backstage access to directors and other production team members (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers, including accomplished BBC and ITV producers and directors. In addition, our technical staff are AVID certified trainers and you could gain AVID certification as part of the degree. You’ll learn in our dedicated TV studio, editing and grading suites and use industry-standard cameras and equipment. The course also benefits from accreditation with Creative Skillset, who work with the UK screen-based creative industries to develop skills and talent, and scored 97% for academic support in the National Student Survey 2024.
