Is there a god? Are our minds separate from our bodies? How much can we ever really know? On this 3-year BA Philosophy degree, you'll grapple with some of the most profound questions. You'll also develop critical thinking and analysis skills that will be essential in your future career.Philosophy at Southampton is ranked 6th in the UK.You'll explore questions in core areas, such as ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, or political philosophy. You'll also apply philosophical thought to practical questions on subjects including global poverty, future generations, sex and gender, or artificial intelligence.Our courses are taught by philosophy experts with an exceptional breadth of interests. We offer high number of contact hours on a wide range of programmes, with a focus on small-group teaching and one-on-one tuition.Our digital humanities facilities will allow you to study and research through cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality, 3D scanners and printers, and a 360 degree fully immersive audiovisual centre.
