Learn how to share your passion for physical activity and inspire the next generation of young people to be active for life. Discover how to effectively plan and deliver engaging PE learning experiences that nurture motivation, confidence, competence, and knowledge and understanding. Become a versatile teacher, able to tailor the curriculum to young peoples needs.

In our subject sessions youll learn, apply and reflect on established teaching methods and the latest innovations in teaching PE, all while youre supported by your Academic Tutors. Through a combination of practical and theoretical sessions, well develop your confidence and competence as an effective, compassionate and adaptable physical educator.

These sessions are led not only by academic staff but a wide range of Physical Education experts. Youll learn how to create positive, meaningful experiences within physical activity environments and learn how to unlock the potential of PE and sport at school to change lives.

Careers

As a graduate of our PGCE with a recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), you can begin your teaching career right away.

During the course, we offer support with applications and interviews so that you can give your teaching career the best possible start.

As an Early Career Teacher, youll be supported by your new employing school for a further two years, after which you might work to become a Head of Department, Assistant Head, Deputy or Headteacher, or take on a more pastoral role such as Head of Year.
