Our Oncology MSc, PGDip and PGCert are part-time, online and expert-led. They explore evidence-based and cost-effective cancer care treatments.

Overview

Our Oncology MSc, PGDip, PGCert is for professionals working in healthcare and related fields. These fields include public health and cancer research. You'll appraise current approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment. You can then apply them to clinical management plans. You'll learn the basics of research in oncology. There will be opportunities to further develop your research skills in a dissertation.

We are world-leaders in online oncology education. We offer diverse and inclusive teaching and bring together clinicians, researchers and industry. The courses are modular to enable career development to wrap around work commitments. You'll have access to Newcastle University’s academic and pastoral support services. They offer an excellent learner experience to all.

What you'll learn

You'll cover three themes:

  • cancer diagnosis, surveillance and early detection
  • cancer treatment, monitoring and follow-up
  • interprofessional working

You'll build an understanding of the clinical, epidemiological and genetic aspects of cancer. You'll explore:

  • cancer treatment modalities and the mechanisms of action of chemotherapeutic agents
  • cancer screening and assessment
  • treatment regimens
  • outcome measures to plan safe, effective and multidisciplinary clinical management
