Course Summary
If you are an HR professional, or want to make a move into HR, this master’s degree will take your career to the next level. The course combines the theoretical knowledge you would expect at master’s level with the practical elements you will need to succeed in your career. It has a strong emphasis on the behavioural and leadership skills that will make a positive difference, wherever you work.
If you are a conscientious and committed professional looking for accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), you will join around 40 like-minded people from London, the UK, Europe and further afield; And, with our contacts and support, you will build a network that will help you throughout the rest of your career. As someone dedicated to your own personal and professional development, you will benefit from this highly practical course and will be taught to specialise in all key HRM areas, including learning and development, employee relations and recruitment.
This masters is accredited to the Advanced level by the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development, ensuring you graduate with the practitioner skills you need for a career in HR. The CIPD also rates our students' Management Reports with the highest confidence, meaning your research will make a real impact on business outcomes.
Your Future Career
Which route will you choose? This HRM Master's qualification will open doors to the profession in the public, private or voluntary sector. All companies and organisations thrive or fail according to the quality of their people and with your MA you will be well placed to make a strategic contribution. You will have a breadth and depth of knowledge that will make you an attractive proposition to employers, able to combine a theoretical and practical approach to make a positive difference.
You might choose to go down the generalist path, where your skills and talents will be put to use across the range of HRM disciplines. Or instead you might choose to focus on a specific area. You could, for example focus on reward – ensuring the organisations retain the best staff – or on recruitment, making sure that companies attract and bring on board the best people for the job. This could be in-house or for a recruitment consultancy.
