Course summary
Our MSc (Pre-Registration) Dietetics programme prepares you for a fulfilling career as a dietitian across a range of health and nutrition settings, including the NHS. Our course aims to develop leaders in contemporary dietetic practice. Your academic and clinical practice learning is integrated in a stepped way, preparing you for the workplace through clinical cases and placement learning. Successful completion of the dietetics degree entitles you to apply for Health and Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Dietitian. Youll learn practical skills through work-based placements with our North West healthcare partners and simulations within purpose-built assessment facilities. Our programme uses real-world case studies, which will equip you with the clinical and professional skills you need for the workplace. Youll be taught by our HCPC registered dietitians with a wide range of experience in clinical practice and research, alongside other nutrition and health professionals. Your learning is closely linked with other Allied Health Professions (AHP) and Nutrition courses and linked to research teams in both Nutritional Sciences and Applied Food Safety Studies and Allied Health. This award is approved by the Health & Care Professions Council and accredited by the British Dietetic Association. Individuals are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC as a registered Dietitian and to apply for full membership with the British Dietetic Association. Learn from specialists in a range of clinical and research areas as well as Visiting Trust staff to offer you bespoke teaching to support your learning Undertake valuable work-based placements which are ensured through our strong links with North West healthcare partners so that youre work-ready on graduation Gain pre-placement essential dietetic knowledge, skills, values and behaviours through simulation-based learning including clinical, community, virtual and multidisciplinary scenarios.
