Overview

Our BSc in Mathematics is designed to develop further your knowledge and love of mathematics, and to show you the numerous paths you can take after completing your degree. We offer you the flexibility to focus on pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics, and also the option to complement your studies with modules from related subjects offered by other UEA Schools, such as environmental sciences, business, computing, physics, and accounting.

About This Course

Our course has a flexible format. It allows you to combine modules from pure and applied mathematics and statistics, together with optional modules in related subjects. You’ll begin your degree by developing your existing mathematical knowledge, before moving onto more advanced subjects as the course progresses. In later years, our optional modules mean you can tailor your studies around your particular interests.  You can even take optional modules from other Schools, like the School of Environmental Sciences, the School of Computing Sciences or the Norwich Business school.  Our lecturers are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Most are also active researchers who conduct world-leading work and incorporate it into their teaching. You will benefit from a very high academic-staff-to-student ratio, ensuring you graduate with a deep understanding of mathematics.   If you excel in your academic performance and wish to study further, you could take the opportunity to transfer from the BSc course onto our four-year integrated Master of Mathematics (MMath) programme.

A level : AAB

including grade A in Mathematics. If Further Mathematics is being taken, ABB including A in Mathematics and B in Further Mathematics. Where applicable Science A Levels awarded by an English Exam board require a pass in the practical element. Critical Thinking & General Studies are not accepted.
