Course summary
There are a number of ways you can study law at Strathclyde, one such way being the BA degree in combination with another subject. Please note that studying Law within the BA degree will not qualify you for entry into the legal profession. For professional qualifications in Law, students follow the LLB programme. Law is concerned with the study of the obligations, duties and rights which every member of society has in relation to one another and to the state. The study of law is regarded not as purely vocational, but as part of a broader education. We also offer some of the best teaching in Human Resource Management (HRM) in both Scotland and the UK. The Department of Work, Employment & Organisation is an accredited centre for teaching HRM. This means our postgraduate courses give students graduate membership of the leading professional body for HR managers - the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). HRM is about the relationship between employers and employees and the ways in which people are managed in the workplace. This covers recruitment and selection, training and developing and managing conflict at work. These are an essential part of the management process in all organisations.
