How you will learn

Working across a designated ‘news patch’, you’ll nurture contacts, conduct interviews, visit courts and public meetings, and produce original stories. You’ll also get to grips with industry-standard technology in our radio and TV studios, video editing suites and dedicated newsroom.

Opportunities and experiences

Gain practical experience with a media organisation in the UK or overseas. Work for the University’s own news outlets. Choose to study part of your degree at one of our partner universities in America. Enjoy guest lectures by leading journalists, broadcasters and political commentators. Your learning experience will be consistently exciting.

Careers and employability

Our graduates now work for magazines, newspapers, the BBC and commercial radio and TV. Others have launched their own digital businesses. This degree also paves the way to careers in PR, advertising, corporate communications, public administration and politics.
