Course summary

This foundation degree in Floristry Design is focused on developing your knowledge and understanding of a broad range of floristry skills and techniques, supported with essential theoretical studies.The programme is designed to help you gain a firm understanding of essential commercial floristry skills and to give you the ability to develop these skills further, becoming confident with contemporary techniques and a wide range of approaches to floristry design. The will experience a real life work environment for a learn whilst doing approach, allowing your development of enterprise and entrepreneurial skills.

Learning and Teaching Approach

This programme is delivered with a variety of learning and teaching approaches to include all students learning styles and preferences.For all modules, theory lectures are delivered that aim to deliver the core content and provide the underpinning knowledge. The teaching methods focus on facilitating a student centred approach to enhance the independent learning that takes place outside of the classroom.


What is the Contact Time?

For each 20 credit module students will receive approximately 54 hours of class / contact time with the tutor. Students are also expected to carry out a significant amount of private study in addition to contact time (146 hours per module).Students can expect to receive their timetables during induction week.
