Course overview
The Engineering Systems (Energy and Environmental Engineering) HNC is a full-time course taught over one year at Edinburgh Colleges Midlothian Campus.
The HNC in Engineering Systems is designed to ensure you meet the industry's varied needs. This HNC will provide you with practical skills in advanced theories of engineering systems using the latest simulation and design software. You will study several technical subjects including Principles of Engineering Systems, Dynamics and Materials Selection.
The subjects will be taught at a high level, allowing you to develop transferable skills essential for your future engineering career.
How the course is assessed
You will normally be assessed at the end of each subject/unit.
Students are allowed two attempts at each assessment.
All units on the course are pass or fail except for the Graded Unit.
You will sit a three-hour written Graded Unit 1 examination covering the knowledge you have learnt throughout the year. You will be awarded either an A, B or C grade with Universities expecting you to achieve at least a B.
All units within the course must be achieved to gain the HNC award.
