Course overview
The Leeds PGDip in Clinical Embryology is a part-time, distance-learning programme offering an internationally recognised qualification, while providing superb academic and professional development opportunities for existing Clinical Embryology practitioners.
Building on your existing knowledge and experience, the course offers advanced learning and establishes good practice in clinical embryology and assisted reproduction technologies. The programme allows you to remain in full-time employment during your studies, whilst offering superb academic and professional development opportunities.
You will learn from course leaders and tutors with over 20 years of experience in training clinical embryologists. You will have the opportunity to interact with established reproductive scientists, clinical embryology practitioners and researchers in reproductive science, ensuring you are up to date with the latest developments in the field.
At the start of the programme, a five-day face-to-face workshop is held at the University of Leeds that will provide you with guidance for the programme ahead and give an opportunity to interact with your fellow students and the academic staff. After the workshop, you will return home and engage with the course through online distance learning. A second workshop will be held in Leeds at the end of the first year, and the rest of the programme thereafter will be taken by online distance learning.
The programme features a series of compulsory modules that you will work through progressively along a set timeline. Through these modules, you’ll develop your knowledge of both the theory and practice of clinical embryology. The programme provides a superb springboard to advance your career prospects within the workplace and for advancement to further study, for example to MSc level.
The Leeds PGDip in Clinical Embryology is designed to allow the working professional to study while remaining in full-time employment. The course is part-time and the schedule is designed to be manageable for working individuals.
