Course summary
Our BSc Chemistry with Sustainability course is aimed at students interested in learning how chemistry is central to establishing a more sustainable future.Alongside core chemistry concepts, you will learn how chemists design new materials for energy storage and conversion, develop alternative fuel sources and meet the challenges of recycling a diverse range of materials, from lithium-ion batteries through to plastics. Over the course of your studies, you will develop multidisciplinary and problem-solving skills.Our broad outlook on the subject offers you the chance to play your part in solving some of the world’s most complex problems in sustainability, graduating with strong analytical abilities, the confidence to propose innovative solutions, and highly developed lab skills. You’ll also learn about the latest developments in cutting-edge research from leaders and innovators in the field, equipping you to take the first step on your career path or the next step in your studies.You can experience the pioneering teaching and research offered here for more than 100 years, producing several Nobel Prize-winners along the way. Offer will depend on subject combination.A level Chemistry. Minimum Mathematics requirement GCSE grade 6. You must also pass the practical element of any reformed science A levels which include Biology, Chemistry and Physics taught from 2015.General Studies, Critical Thinking and Use of Maths are not accepted.
