Course summary
Combine practical with theoretical in this hands-on Biomedical Engineering course. The medical devices sector is fast-growing, and as medical science advances, biomedical engineers are even more in demand. Put your lab skills to use on hospital visits. Get hands-on with medical tech. Test biomaterials and medical devices, and learn practical skills like dissection to cement your knowledge of human anatomy and surgical conundrums. Like all our Engineering courses, Biomedical Engineering shares a common first year, which means you can choose to switch to a different pathway in your second year. It also offers a four-year Integrated Masters (MEng) option. This lets you study a year at postgraduate level on top of your degree. On our four-year Integrated Masters (MEng) option, you study a year at postgraduate level on top of your degree. By studying a Masters, you'll further extend the depth and breadth of your knowledge and earn an MEng qualification. This fully meets the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer status, which opens even more doors to future employment and research opportunities.
