Learning on this course includes hands-on integrating projects throughout your studies. Your learning will cover topics in:

flight physics
airframe
systems

Your final year will allow you to tailor your learning through a variety of specialist modules, such as technical and management topics. You will also complete an in-depth final project, to prepare you to enter industry.

Our four-year MEng course is the preferred route to achieving Chartered Engineer status. It will give you a deeper understanding of the role of aerospace engineering compared to our BEng course.

Year in industry:
On this course you may be able to spend a year (typically your penultimate year) working in industry where you could gain first-hand experience of the exciting challenges that are faced by engineers and refine the skills you have built so far in the course. While it is the students responsibility to find and secure a year in industry host, the Faculty of Engineering placements team will support you throughout this process.

Careers overview:
During your degree, you will learn how to analyse and problem solve, work in a team and be creative with inventive thinking. Our teaching is based on research funded by Airbus, BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce. These strong links with industry see our graduates go on to work for global companies across a range of technical and managerial jobs.

A level : A*AA

Maths and either Physics (preferred) or Further Maths as a 2nd subject, or Maths with any two of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Design, Economics, Psychology, Electronics, Computer Science. For applicants predicted A*AA including A in maths but not offering the subject combinations above - A*AA including Maths and at least one of Chemistry, Biology, Electronics or DesignExcluding General Studies, Critical Thinking, Citizenship Studies, CIE Global Perspectives and Research, CIE Thinking Skills.
