Course summary

Enhance your practice at a global top 100 (QS World University Rankings 2024) university. The course is for experienced registered practitioners currently working within a UK healthcare setting, looking to further develop practice and/or prepare for clinical practice roles at a senior level. You'll strengthen your existing knowledge, skills, and competencies while also preparing for roles that require greater autonomy, responsibility, and more complex clinical decision-making. You'll develop your professional skills and knowledge and graduate eligible for associate membership with the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) as an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner. This pathway is accredited by Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice. Completion of HEE accredited programmes/pathways is set to become one of the benchmark routes to recognition for Advanced Clinical Practitioners. Accreditation is also designed to ensure a consistent level of programme quality across England. Assessment methods (Outcome qualification level) At Southampton, assessments are designed to equip you with the skills you need for success in your career. On this course, you'll be assessed through written and oral examinations, practical assessments, case studies, a portfolio, presentations, and a dissertation.
